The Director-General/CEO of NACETEM, Dr. Willie Siyanbola has charged the South-South Zonal Office of NACETEM to focus on its key areas of strength and opportunities. He gave this charge during his presentation which he titled “Rebranding NACETEM for Enhanced Performance and Impact” at a retreat for senior staff of the South-South Zonal Office of NACETEM held in Asaba, Delta State from 11th to 13th March 2011. The retreat was titled “Consolidation”.
The DG/CEO, who explained why focus is being put on Technology Management, the relevance of NACETEM, the role of Zonal Offices and the need for the retreat, presented NACETEM’s 2010 scorecard and gave the way forward for NACETEM in 2011. In going forward in 2011, the DG asked the South-South Office to focus on key areas of strength and opportunities, initiate interactions in S&T within the zone, develop and execute appropriate Policy Researches, ensure web presence and carry out periodic self-assessment or performance appraisal. The DG advised the South-South Zonal Office to set up a SERVICOM unit and appoint a nodal officer for the unit, who will liaise with the SERVICOM unit in the headquarters office.
The DG ended his presentation by appreciating the efforts of the South-South Zonal Office in 2010 and charged them to improve on last year’s performance. He also called on the Office to strengthen its relationship with the Headquarters.
